SLIIT Research Symposium, SRS ’09, the fifth in the series, will be held this year on 22nd December 2009 at the SLIIT Auditorium, Malabe Campus.

The theme for the Symposium this year, “ICT for National Development and Integration” focuses on a series of new challenges which have emerged after three decades of anxiety and concern.

There is no doubt that IT has a significant role to play in addressing these new challenges in the area of construction, infrastructure development, resettlement, education, agriculture, industry, employment and social integration.

As in the past, SLIIT Research Symposium this year too is expected to be the premier symposium focused on state-of-the-art research and applications in the field of IT and related disciplines in Sri Lanka.

This symposium will be an open forum for academics and industry professionals to discuss the latest issues and the progress in the field of IT. In addition, the symposium will publish a collection of high quality research papers in the SRS ’09proceedings. The symposium, its publications and the associated chain of events are expected to trigger further research and technology improvements in the IT subject domain.
