Department of Business and Information Management

The mission of the Information Management Department is to create, disseminate and apply fundamental knowledge at the intersection of human systems and information technology. To fulfill this mission, the department will:

• Conduct and disseminate research on information systems that will improve the quality of life of the citizens of Sri Lanka and of the world;
• Prepare its graduates for positions of leadership as professionals and as citizens, while making special efforts to provide educational opportunities for a broadly diverse student body; and
• Provide service that responds to needs of large and small businesses, governmental agencies, other departments at SLIIT, professional societies, and other organizations that may benefit from the expertise of its faculty and students.
