This stream will help you address the challenges in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. It covers topics such as smart grids, distribution systems and the integration of renewable energy.
This major sits within the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree.
Successful completion of Sri LankanGeneralCertificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level with at least 8 points from the best three subjects (excluding General English). Points are assigned on the basis that: A=5, B=4, C=3, S=1.
Separate evidence of English competency as specified in Table 1 is required.
Essential course prerequisites: S (Ordinary Pass) grade in Applied Mathematics OR Pure Mathematics OR Combined Mathematics.
Successful completion of Curtin University-SLIIT Academy Foundation Program (Engineering Stream).
Successful completion of any other test/examination/program recognized by Curtin University
Successful completionof one-year full-time study of a Bachelor degree at a recognized university, separate evidence of English competency is required.

All Students are required to satisfy Curtin’s English language requirements for undergraduate admission. Curtin accepts a minimum of any one of the accepted English proficiency tests as detailed in Table 1 below.

An Industry Advisory Board provides input to this course to ensure it matches current industry needs and expectations.
In your final year, you will undertake a two-semester research and design capstone project that will demonstrate your abilities. You will also complete 480 hours of exposure to professional engineering practice to prepare you for the work environment.
Students are required to complete at least 12 weeks of exposure to professional engineering practice to graduate.
