Having established in 1999 for the purpose of producing large numbers of IT professionals required by the ever-growing IT industry, SLIIT has won many accolades as an Institution of distinction. So far SLIIT has produced over 17,000 graduates with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in IT, Engineering, Business, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Humanities & Sciences with many specialisations, which is a record unmatched by any other non-state higher education institute in Sri Lanka. SLIIT is proud of its graduates who serve our nation and elsewhere.

SLIIT is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities UK, an association of over 2700 Universities and institutes of higher learning encompassing the entire Commonwealth. SLIIT is the first institute of higher learning in Sri Lanka that gained such recognition. SLIIT is also a member of the International Association of Universities. The only IT degree in Sri Lanka that has been accredited by the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET), UK and Computer Society of Sri Lanka is at SLIIT. We also note with pride that the Curtin University B.Eng. 4-year Engineering programs done at SLIIT are fully accredited by Engineers Australia. Again, this is the only engineering program done in Sri Lanka accredited by Engineers Australia. We at SLIIT are very pleased that our Institute has gained such international recognition.

I take this opportunity to congratulate all our 664 graduates who receive their degrees at the 2021 July Convocation, and I urge all our graduates to serve our nation efficiently and enthusiastically to bring prosperity to our motherland.
