Dozens’ Rugby 2025!

𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀’ 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱! 🏉🔥
Sri Lanka’s first-ever university 12s rugby tournament — the 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀’ 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 — took place on 𝟯𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 at the 𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲, featuring 𝟬𝟴 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 competing for glory.
Just like last year, 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗜𝗧 delivered a dominant performance on home turf and successfully 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 after an intense final against 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗜𝗧, who earned the 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀-𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲.
In the 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗡𝗦𝗕𝗠 emerged victorious, while 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗞𝗗𝗨, last year’s Cup Runners-up, secured the 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀-𝘂𝗽 position this time around.
🏆 Individual Awards:
𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – Mandara Amarasekara (SLIIT)
𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – Avishka Gunawardhana (NSBM Green University)
The eight participating universities included: NSBM Green University, Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), CINEC Campus, APIIT Sri Lanka, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, SLIIT KANDY UNI, ECU Sri Lanka – Edith Cowan University, and the host team SLIIT.
The closing ceremony was graced by the 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗡𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗲, along with SLIIT administrative officers and representatives from sponsoring companies.
The tournament concluded on a 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲, marking another 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the Dozens’ Rugby Championship, with 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 once again on their home ground.💪🏉
