SLIIT — continues to raise Sri Lanka’s profile on the global research map, with six of its academics ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the 2025 Stanford–Elsevier Global Rankings. Recognised this year are Prof. Charitha Jayaruk, Dr. Bhagya Nathali Silva, Prof. Dhanushka Udayanga, Prof. Dush Jayakody, and Prof. Nimal Rajapakse from SLIIT’s Faculties of Humanities, Computing, and Engineering, along with Prof. Priyan Dias who, together with Prof. Rajapakse, was also listed for career-long impact.
The announcement was made at a media briefing held on the 22nd of October at the NH Collection Colombo, celebrating SLIIT’s growing research strength and international recognition. Commenting on the achievement, Vice Chancellor Professor Lalith Gamage said, “This recognition showcases the remarkable talent of our academics and the strength of SLIIT’s research ecosystem.” The event also featured a panel discussion with the recognised researchers and university leadership, reflecting on how collaborative and impactful research continues to drive innovation and global relevance. With this milestone, SLIIT reaffirms its commitment to advancing world-class research and shaping Sri Lanka’s academic excellence on the global stage.
