
The Sri Lanka Nursing Council the regulatory body of professional nursing initiated a comprehensive evaluation in response to SLIIT’s application for degree-granting status. This esteemed visit further evaluated institutional proficiency, competency, facilities and other infrastructure in pursuit of becoming an accredited institution for awarding the BSc (Hons) Nursing degree.
The distinguished delegation comprised 06 esteemed nursing professionals including the President of Sri Lanka Nursing Council, the Registrar and respective nursing directors of the Ministry of Health. The visit was chaired by Prof. Nimal Rajapaksha, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and supported by Prof. Rahula Attalage Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Dr. Malitha Wijesundara, Dean of the SLIIT Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, and Prof. Colin Peiris, Dean of Quality Assurance and Academic Development and staff members of SLIIT School of Nursing.
This collaborative effort underlines SLIIT’s commitment to advancing Nursing Education in Sri Lanka and maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence as a University.
