
We were delighted to host representatives from Sisili Hanora Encare, a Korean-based company in Sri Lanka, at the Centre of Excellence in Informatics, Electronics & Transmission (CIET), Faculty of Engineering, SLIIT.
The meeting was attended by Yasantha Gunaratne, Director Technical, Janaka Wijesekera, Assistant General Manager, and other representatives from Sisili Hanora Encare. Prof. Dush Jayakody, Chair of CIET, showcased the strengths and expertise of our research center. Prof. Ayantha Gomes, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at SLIIT, also participated in the meeting. From CIET, Dr. Nathali de Silva, Assistant Professor at SLIIT, and doctoral researchers Mr. Hanojhan Rajahrajasingh and Dinith Primal enriched the discussion.
The discussions focused on exploring potential research collaborations, the classification of waste disposal using semantic communications, offering AI solutions for waste management, and the possibility of setting up an industry lab at SLIIT. This partnership aims to leverage our combined expertise to drive innovative solutions and advancements in the field.
The company offered co-funding for CIET’s initiative on Advanced VLC-RF Network for Microplastic Pollution Monitoring in Sri Lanka (PhotonWave).
