On Friday January 19th 2018, the SLIIT Department of Software Engineering at the Faculty of Computing hosted the Department Industry Consultative Board Meeting at the Colombo Academy of Hospitality Management (CAHM), SLIIT Malabe Campus. Around 30 industry representatives from more than 20 companies including Mr. Anura Dissanayake a�� Vice President Engineering (Accelerite), Mr. Malaka Gallage a�� Head of Technology Development (Cambio), Mr. Priyanka Suduge a�� Principal Software Engineer (Pearson), Mr. Athula Mahawalage a�� CEO (AM Kreations) and Mr. Amitha Amarasinghe a�� CEO (NEO Ogilvy) were present at the event, in order to review specialisations in Software Engineering and Interactive Multimedia at the institute. The event also focused on ways of strengthening department-industry relationships, so students may be able to make use of enhanced opportunities upon graduation. The opinions and suggestions brought up at the meeting will now be assessed to see how they can best be incorporated into the relevant curriculum accordingly.
