
The 4th International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC 2022) organized by the Faculty of Computing – SLIIT was held from 09th December to 11th December 2022 via Zoom Platform. The theme of this years conference was “Towards Economic Prosperity through Advancements in Computing”. Two renowned researchers Prof. Hossein Sarrafzadeh – Director, Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education, and Outreach (CREO) and Prof. Janaka Ekanayake – Chair Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Peradeniya delivered the keynote speeches at the opening ceremony on topics “Cybersecurity threats, opportunities, and possibilities for international collaboration in research and education” and “ICT infrastructure for Solar Future” respectively. Prof. Lalith Gamage – Vice Chancellor of SLIIT, Prof. Chandimal Jayawardena – Dean/ Faculty of Computing – SLIIT and Dr. Anuradha Karunasena General Chair of ICAC 2022 also addressed the conference.
This year the conference had received over 270 papers under 9 tracks out of which 85 papers were selected for oral presentations. These papers were presented under 17 technical sessions of ICAC 2022. Apart from the technical sessions, ICAC 2022 also included four workshops on cutting edge topics related to computing which were conducted by reputed industry and academic experts. Large number of participants had registered to these workshops.
ICAC is an open forum for academics along with industry professionals to present the latest findings and research output and practical deployments in the Computer Science and Information Technology domains. The conference creates a platform for national and international researchers to showcase their research output, networking and initiating collaborative work. In addition, this years’ conference is especially focused on how research in the domains of Computer Science and Information Technology could reevaluate the Sri Lankan economy.
