SLIIT conducted a series of workshops at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo 5, on the 19th of September 2024, delivering interactive sessions that provided senior science students with valuable insights into various fields.
Prof. Nuwan Kodagoda, Pro Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Computing – SLIIT, led a session on AI Technology for the next generation, while Dr. Eranga Wijesinghe, Assistant Professor – Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering of SLIIT – Faculty of Engineering Malabe, Sri Lanka and Dr. Gayashika Fernando, Senior Lecturer from the SLIIT – Faculty of Engineering Malabe, Sri Lanka, discussed essential skills and career opportunities in engineering. Mr. Priyan Hettipathirana, Senior Lecturer at the SLIIT School of Architecture, offered an overview of the dynamic field of architecture and its career prospects. Prof. Sriyani Peiris, Head of the Department of Applied Sciences of SLIIT Faculty of Humanities and Sciences shared insights on the growing field of biotechnology and the opportunities it presents.
