Career Summary

Prof. Mahesha Kapurubandara is the Dean International and Professor of ICT SLIIT. She is responsible for developing high value international partnerships through maintaining close relationships with flagship institutions across the world. She sits on the Strategic Management Team of the University and is a member of Academic Board and attends Board of Governors.   

Professor Kapurubandara graduated with B.Sc.(honours) from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. After completing MSc in Computer Science at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand she joined the industry and had worked in Singapore, Australia and Sri Lanka. In 2000 she joined SLIIT as the as Head of the initial Academic Division towards the provision of qualified graduates in IT much required by the industry in Sri Lanka.

She proceeded to Australia in 2004 to take up an academic position at the Western Sydney University.  During her tenure at WSU she completed her Ph.D. and upon her return in 2008 she had held positions including Dean Student Affairs and Dean International.

Prof.  Mahesha has research interests with ICT for Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs), Women Entrepreneurship and Business Process Management (BPM). She has authored or co-authored many publications in this field. She also serves on editorial boards of many International Conferences and serves as a reviewer.
