Career Summary

Samurdhi is a Lecturer attached to the School of Law, Faculty of Humanities and Sciences. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws from Faculty of Law University of Colombo in 2015 and thereafter pursued her Masters in International Business and Commercial Law from University of West-London in 2018-2019. She is currently reading for her PhD. 

Sha took oaths as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in January 2017 and has about 6 years’ of experience in the legal field in various capacities such as a practicing Attorney-at-Law, a Legal Researcher and an Academic. Samurdhi started her career as an apprentice to a well-known President Counsel’s Chamber in Sri Lanka and continued to be a Junior Counsel for the same Senior, for three years. Then she joined a legal firm as an Associate Attorney. Her practice was mainly on Civil matters pertaining to Family Law, Labour Law, Company Law, Money Recovery, Banking Law and Commercial Law. Samurdhi also has experience in Notarial and Company Secretarial matters. While working as a practicing Attorney Samurdhi started as a part-time a lecturer in law at the Asia Pacific Institute Of Information Technology (APIIT) Sri Lanka for the LLB(Hons) Degree of Staffordshire University, UK (2018-2021). Samurdhi has been a Visiting Lecturer for SLIIT, School of Law since September 2020 before she joined SLIIT as a full-time academic in June, 2021.
