Career Summary

Aishani H. Jayasinghe is a practicing Chartered Architect with 20 years of professional experience and is the Managing Director and one of the principal architects at JAN Merkaba (Pvt.) Ltd. – Chartered Architects and Designers. Her experience and involvement in projects have spanned form national to international importance and have contributed to work both in Sri Lanka and abroad.

She has been involved in Architectural education and teaching since 2001, and taught at KRV institute of Architecture, Bombay - India, University of Moratuwa-Sri Lanka, the City School of Architecture-Sri Lanka.   
She has also been involved in curriculum design and development of architecture and design related curricula including the proposed architecture degree for the Open University of Sri Lanka, the architecture degree offered by SLIIT School of Architecture, the new master’s degree and restructuring of bachelor's degree at the National University of Maldives and the design diploma programmes at the Academy of Digital Arts in Sri Lanka. 

Aishani Jayasinghe is presently the Head of the School of Architecture, at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Malabe, Sri Lanka.

  • 2018 onwards - Technical Team Leader of Curriculum Development team for Maldives National University, Male, Maldives. 
  • 2014 to 2015 – Course Leader, Program coordinator and Lecturer in Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Sri Lanka.
  • 2014- 2015 – Visiting Design Tutor, City School of Architecture, Sri Lanka.
  • 2013 – Final Year Thesis Design Examiner, Balwanth Seth School of Architecture, NMIMS University, Bomaby, India

Professional Career: 

As a Chartered Architect, she has been involved in more than 100 Architectural Design projects including projects of National and International Importance.  These Design Projects Range from Government Development Projects, Tourism Related Projects, Commercial Projects, Health Industry Building Projects, Education Industry and Residential Projects.
