LLB (Hons)

The four-year (full-time) LLB program offered by SLIIT is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and provides a comprehensive legal education that combines both indepth theoretical and practical knowledge. The curriculum is designed to produce competitive legal professionals equipped to excel in various areas of law including alternative dispute resolution. Based on their preferences, the programme allows the students to take either a research oriented or a practice oriented approach to study in its final year through options of dissertation and internship. Students also have the opportunity to specialize in key fields like public law, civil law, and commercial law. Additionally, the program explores emerging branches of law such as information technology law, international investment law, health law and education law, reflecting the evolving nature of the legal profession and offering a wide array of pathways for specialization.

Entry requirements

Two (2) Credit (C) passes and one (01) Simple Pass (S) in any Stream in one and the same sitting at the G.C.E (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examination of Sri Lanka
or
Equivalent qualification and a Credit pass (C) in the English Language and a Credit pass (C) in the Sinhala
or
Tamil Language at the G.C.E (Ordinary Level) examination conducted by the department of examination of Sri Lanka
or
Equivalent qualification and pass the Aptitude Test conducted by SLIIT and the interview conducted by the School of Law, SLIIT.
