Dinithi Lorensuhewa is an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Computing, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Malabe, where she supports first-year students in building the communication and academic foundations they need to thrive in a technology-driven field.

Exploring the Gap Between Formal English Proficiency and Spontaneous Communicative Performance Among Undergraduates: Designing a Mobile-Assisted Communication Enhancement Application

This study aims to investigate whether undergraduate students who demonstrate formal English proficiency are able to communicate effectively in spontaneous real-life interactions. Through small-talk activities, interviews, and communicative tasks, the research will explore factors such as communication anxiety, confidence, hesitation, and language-processing strategies that influence spontaneous communication
