ONGOING RESEARCH

Exploring Postbiotic LAB Metabolites for Reducing Spoilage in Orange Juice

Conducting MSc research on the isolation and characterization of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from Sri Lankan fermented foods to evaluate antimicrobial postbiotic metabolites for food biopreservation applications and spoilage reduction in fruit-based beverages.

Exploring Cadmium Degradation Mechanism in Pseudomonas sp.

Conducted research on microbial biosorption and detoxification mechanisms involved in cadmium removal using Pseudomonas species. The study involved analytical and molecular characterization techniques including SEM, FTIR, and AAS to investigate metal–cell interactions and environmental bioremediation potential.

Environmental Biotechnology and Algae-Based Bioenergy

Interested in research related to algae-based biotechnology, environmental science, and sustainable bioenergy production from algae with emphasis on environmentally friendly bioprocessing applications.
