Codefest 2026 Inspires Digital Learning at Wanarathana Maha Vidyalaya

A day that brought the whole school together!

On the 8th of July 2026, Codefest 2026 arrived at Wanarathana Maha Vidyalaya, Demalagama, courtesy of the SLIIT Faculty of Computing — and over 100 students, plus their teachers, took part.

Basics of Computing — Grades 1 to 5

Computing Fundamentals — Grades 6 to 11

Cyber Hygiene and Smart Board Usage — for teachers

First computer encounters. Solid foundations for the seniors. And a session helping teachers navigate the digital classroom safely and confidently. Different starting points, same goal: a school more comfortable with technology than it was the day before.

Our thanks to the Faculty of Computing academics who made it all happen: Mr. Tharaniyawarma Kumaralingam, Mr. Chanura Jayawardana, Ms. Isini Rathnayake and Ms. Hansika Nethmini.
