Codefest 2026 Inspires Young Minds at Meegoda Schools

Two schools, one incredible day.

On the 30th of June 2026, the SLIIT Faculty of Computing rolled into Meegoda Subharathi Mahamathya Vidyalaya and Meegoda Dharmaraja Vidyalaya for Codefest 2026 — and the classrooms were buzzing.

150+ students, three sessions, three very different worlds of tech:

Artificial Intelligence — Grades 9–11

Internet of Things — Grade 12

What is Computing? — Grade 4

Watching a Grade 4 student light up over what's actually happening inside a computer, right through to seniors wrapping their heads around AI and connected devices — this is exactly why we do this.

Our thanks to the Faculty of Computing academics who brought it to life: Mr. Dinith Primal, Mr. Chanura Jayawardane, Mr. Chamika Senadheera, Ms. Thriyashi Silva, Ms. Helani Herath, Mr. Nushkan Nismi, Ms. Kasuni Navodana, Ms. Isini Rathnayake and Ms. Menaka Bogollagama.
