SLIIT CODEFEST 2026 Highlights the Importance of Online Safety
Knowledge is the best firewall. 
As part of SLIIT's CODEFEST 2026 School Outreach Initiative, Mr. Kavinga Yapa Abeywardena, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Computing, joined students of Vidyakara Balika Vidyalaya as Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at their ICT Society Investiture Ceremony.
He delivered a timely address titled "Staying Safe Online: Social Media & Cyber Security." The session focused on raising awareness about responsible digital citizenship, online privacy, cyber threats, social media safety, and practical measures students can take to protect themselves in today's connected world.
