SLIIT Colours Awards 2025 Celebrating Sporting Excellence
An inspiring evening honoring outstanding athletes and achievements at SLIIT
The SLIIT Colours Awards 2025 lit up the SLIIT Main Auditorium on 6th March 2026, celebrating the remarkable sporting achievements of student athletes. Graced by Chief Guest Jehan Mubarak alongside distinguished academic leaders, the event recognised 290 sportsmen and sportswomen for their excellence across inter-university, national, and international competitions. A total of 379 awards were presented, including accolades for captains, coaches, and top performers, highlighting both talent and leadership within the sporting community.
Among the highlights, Kavya Jayasuriya was named Most Outstanding Athlete of the Year, recognised for her dominance in track and field while maintaining strong academic performance. Dulaj Hesara earned the title of Most Outstanding Sportsman for his achievements in Muay Thai and MMA, while Galina Basnayake was awarded Most Outstanding Sportswoman for the third consecutive year, marking her exceptional contributions to para-swimming on both national and international stages.
The event stood as a powerful tribute to dedication, discipline, and perseverance, reinforcing SLIIT’s commitment to nurturing sporting excellence and inspiring future generations to strive for greatness.
