SLIIT Hosts AI and Computer Vision Workshop Ahead of NEW2AN 2026

Seeing Through AI: Deep Learning for Computer Vision

As part of NEW2AN 2026 (International Conference on Next Generation Wired/Wireless Networks and Systems), SLIIT hosted this pre-conference workshop, diving deep into the world of AI and Computer Vision!

Moderated by Prof. Ruchire Eranga Wijesinghe (SLIIT), with an insightful technical session by Prof. Akila Subasinghe from the University of Birmingham Dubai, participants explored CNNs, image classification, object detection, generative AI, and real-world applications in healthcare, autonomous vehicles, and robotics.

We're grateful to our speakers and to every student, academic, and AI enthusiast who joined us for a day of learning, discussion, and discovery!
