After dedicating nearly three decades of exemplary service to the University of Peradeniya, Dr. Somaratna joined SLIIT in 2014. Over the past 12 years, he has been an invaluable member of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering, playing a pivotal role in advancing academic excellence, and shaping the next generation of engineers. His wisdom, leadership, and unwavering commitment have significantly contributed to the growth and success of both the Department and the Faculty.

As we celebrate this retirement, we also look forward to Dr. Somaratna's continued guidance and inspiration in helping shape the future of engineering education at SLIIT and in Sri Lanka.
