The 08th National Karate Tournament was held on November 18th, 2017 in the indoor stadium at the University of Ruhuna. Organised by the Japan Karate Do Dojokai Sri Lanka, SLIIT brought home 16 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 13 bronze medals.
The SLIIT karate team also won the overall championship, successfully doing so for the 4th consecutive time. S. Hovarthan took home the title of Over 21 Best Player (male) whilst P.S.C. Kularathne of SLIIT was awarded Over 21 Best Player (female). Congratulations to all!
