Short Course on Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technology for the Construction Professionals
The Department of Civil Engineering, SLIIT hosted the second batch of the short course on BIM Basics, bridging the gap between the latest BIM technology and traditional construction practices. 19 industry professionals, including architects, civil and structural engineers, quantity surveyors, and draftspersons from leading government and private organizations participated in the course.
This was a good opportunity for participants to get hands-on experience in BIM modeling, BIM-based analysis, and preparation of BIM Execution Plan. Eng. Siva Jayanthan, Associate at AECOM Singapore and Eng. Udara Perera, Lecturer at SLIIT, served as the resource persons for this course.
The short course initiated a good pathway to implement BIM in local construction firms to unlock worldwide opportunities in the future.
