Prof. Anuradha Jayakody is an accomplished academic, researcher, systems engineer, programme coordinator, and higher-education leader at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Computer Systems Engineering and has held several leadership responsibilities in graduate studies, industry engagement, postgraduate education, and institutional IT services.

He joined SLIIT in February 2007 as an Assistant Lecturer and progressed through the positions of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer to Assistant Professor. Alongside his academic career, he has served as a Systems Engineer in the IT Services Department and as a Cisco Academy Instructor. He has also coordinated the MSc in Information Systems and the Computer Systems and Networking degree programme offered in collaboration with Curtin University.

Prof. Jayakody holds a PhD from Curtin University, Australia, an MPhil from the University of Peradeniya, an MSc in Information Systems and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology from SLIIT, and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Greenwich, United Kingdom. His research interests include indoor navigation, assistive technologies, cybersecurity, information security, mobile ad hoc networks, IoT, smart systems, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.

He has made substantial scholarly contributions, including more than 100 conference papers, over 15 journal publications, and five book chapters. His research work covers assistive indoor navigation, smart agriculture, healthcare technologies, IoT and edge computing, software-defined networking, cybersecurity, intelligent systems, and machine-learning-based applications.
