Soft opening of the new building of Faculty of Engineering was held recently at the institutes Malabe campus. The purpose built 7- storey building was constructed within one year and has a floor area of 7000m2.The ground floor houses Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering laboratories, while the second floor is allocated for Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Materials Engineering laboratories. The new complex features spacious lecture halls, tutorial classes, and design studios, library, common areas in the new building. Staff area on the fifth floor provides easy access to students for consultation.
Faculty of Engineering at SLIIT offers undergraduate degrees approved by the UGC. Faculty also conducts Engineering degrees/Masters degrees from partner Universities such as Curtin University( Australia) and Sheffield Hallam University (UK).
