MATHFEST 2025, organized by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) for the third consecutive year, was successfully held on Monday, 26th May, at the SLIIT Auditorium. The main objective of MATHFEST is to foster analytical and logical thinking through collaborative mathematical problem-solving.
Ms. Ayodhya Iddawela Perera, Managing Director of Sampath Bank PLC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. GCE (A/L) students from 45 schools across the Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts participated in the competition.
The prestigious MATHFEST Trophy was awarded to Thurstan College, Colombo 7, who emerged as the champions. The runners-up were:
(i) Bandaranayake Central College, Veyangoda
(ii) Pasyala Maha Vidyalaya, Pasyala
(iii) Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo 7
All participating students received certificates and prizes in recognition of their efforts.
