
We are pleased to announce that a distinguished member of the SLIIT community, Professor Nimal Rajapakse, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, has been included in the 2022 List of the World’s Top 100,000 and Top 1% of Researchers. This list was compiled by Professor John Ioannides of Stanford University, USA, in collaboration with Elsevier BV. This ranking, widely regarded as the most prestigious global ranking of researchers, is based on bibliometric data from the Scopus database. It includes over 190,000 researchers from an estimated 8 million scientists working across 22 disciplines and 176 subdisciplines. The ranking assigns a “c-score” for researchers based on their h-index, citations, authorship-adjusted h-index and other metrics.
Professor Rajapakse has been ranked within the top 100,000 worldwide and amongst the top 1% since 2018, when this ranking was first released. SLIIT, as a leading non-state higher education institute, is very proud to have been associated with this honour. We would like to extend our congratulations to Professor Nimal Rajapakse on receiving this esteemed recognition, which attests to his dedication to research excellence and the advancement of science. We would also like to thank him for making it possible for SLIIT to stand tall among other educational institutions renowned globally for research excellence.
