On November 25th 2017, SLIIT hosted an Open Information Session initiated by the Marketing department, focusing on SLIIT  MSc, PhD and MPhil degrees. The SLIIT Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research together with the General Research Committee of SLAAS is hosting a workshop on scientific research related to research design and responsibilities. Held at the SLIIT mini auditorium, the workshop was conducted and moderated by the Senior Professors of the University of Ruhuna and Kelanya respectively.

A research seminar on the topic  Successful Supervision of Research Students was held on July 05th 2017, at the SLIIT Malabe Campus main building. Organised by the SLIIT  Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research at SLIIT, the seminar was conducted by Professor Nirmal Rajapakse of Simon Fraser University in Canada.

A workshop on Scientific Research under the topic of  Literature Searching & Reviewinga  was conducted on 12th of June 2017 at SLIIT Malabe campus. The resource persons are SeniorProfessor Ruchira Cumaranatunga, from University of Ruhuna, Professor Sagarika Ekanayake from Medical Faculty, University of Sri Jayawardenepura and Mr L. A. Jayatissa, Librarian from University of Kelaniya.
