A Career Guidance Workshop was organized by the Department of Information Systems Engineering of the SLIIT-Faculty of Computing Malabe,Sri Lanka on 28th September 2018. The workshop was aligned with SLIIT Career Week where the main target audience was the first-year undergraduates Following the BSc Hons in IT. The workshop was conducted by several experts from the industry including Mr. Mithila Somasiri, Head of Support, London Stock exchange Group / Former Head of Division –Business Analysis and Consulting, MillenniumIT, Mr. Sujith Jayasekera, Consulting Manager, attune Consulting, Mr. Mass Savanghan, Manager Human Resources, attune Consulting, Ms. Chaya Thilakumara, Business Analyst in Capital Markets, Ustocktrade LLC and Ms Buddhima Attanayake from Bank of Ceylon. The theme of the workshop was “The future depends on what you do today”
The workshop was attended by Dr. Pradeep Abeygunawardhana, Head/ Department of Information Systems Engineering and academics for the department including Ms. Muditha Tissera Dr Dasuni Nawinna and Ms. Chathurangika Kahandawaarachchi, Program Coordinator, BSc Hons in IT (Sp. Information Systems Engineering). This session was a stepping stone for many initiatives conducted for the development of students at SLIIT.
