The Faculty of Business at SLIIT, for the fourth consecutive year, conducted Soft Skills + 2016. With the intention of cultivating skills such as team work, problem solving, leadership skills and creative thinking, an interschool quiz competition and a soft skills workshop, under the theme a�?Teamwork and Communicationa�� was held for children from over 25 schools.
Open to students from grade 11 to 13 representing state, private and international schools the event was carried out in two sessions; a preliminary round and the grand finale. Whilst both sessions had two segments, the first part was a workshop to acquire soft skills such as creativity, analytical thinking, problem solving skills, leadership and communication skills. The second segment was a quiz related in the field of Business, covering areas such as;A�recent developments in business (local and international), Globalization and new trends, Local and international brands, trademarks, slogans, tag lines, etc, International trade and Business Communication.
With 35 teams in the preliminary round, 05 teams were selected for the grand finale. After hours of battling for the title, St. Peters College, Colombo, secured first place in the quiz competition with Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo and Vidura College, Colombo coming in second and third respectively.
