
Five students from SLIIT a�� Faculty of Computing, made Sri Lanka proud when they clinched two Merit awards at the recently concluded Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Alliance (APICTA) Awards in Hong Kong. The students from SLIIT, shone among the rest with their innovative and potentially commercially viable projects.

While Ganindu Nanayakkara, the recent Gold award winner under the Tertiary Student Category at the National Best Quality ICT Awards (NBQSA), received a Merit award for his project a�?iHelmeta��, Pramadhi Attapattu Arachchi, Mithra Mayadunne, Jayaruwan Rupasinghe and Dineth Cooray, also bagged a Merit award under the Tertiary Student Category at the renowned APICTA Awards for their project a�?Panaceaa��s Jacketa��.
APICTA is a well-recognized flagship event in the calendar of the ICT industry in the region, providing a platform for all member economies to showcase their capabilities and achievements in ICT innovations. The competition this year featured participants from many countries, such as Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan and China.
