The One Day Workshop on Biology Laboratory Experimentation organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences of SLIIT was held at SLIIT Campus premises. The first session took place from 9.00am to 11.00 am in D202A (Faculty of Business) and from 11.00am onwards in the Environmental Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering.
Secondary school teachers from both national and private schools such as Lyceum International School, Leeds International School, OKI International School, Munidasa Kumaratunga Vidyalaya, Linfield International School and Nakano International school attended to this programme to gain hands on experience on laboratory experimentation through this workshops.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. Colin Peiris, Director Academic Development and Quality Assurance, SLIIT, Prof. Sriyani Peiris, Emeritus Professor University of Peradeniya, and Dr. Charitha Jayaruk, Senior Lecturer, School of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, under the guidance of Dr. Malitha Wijesundara, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Sciences.
These workshops were carried out as a Corporate Social Responsibility project of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences to uplift the standards of private/public school teachers of Sri Lanka.
The workshop went Live on Facebook from 11.30 onwards on 17th of August 2018.
